Dr. Cecilia Laschi is one of the world’s most prominent figures in robotics. Known for her pioneering work in soft robotics, she has significantly advanced the field through her research on bio-inspired systems, including the renowned octopus robot. After her tenure at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Italy, she joined the National University of Singapore, where she serves as a Provost’s Chair Professor of Robotics and Director of the NUS Advanced Robotics Centre. In this role, she continues to push the boundaries of soft robotics, with a focus on healthcare and human-robot interaction.
